Fro it Up!

Took the braid out and decided to fro it up! I basically just did the twists the night before and took them out in the morning.

Unlike another picture I posted some time back I actually combed out my hair to achieve this look.

The reason for accidental comb-out was because my hair was still damp so it would've looked so weird.

In any case, I think it came out nice.

Curled Afro-Kinky Twists

I tried the Afro Kinky Twists (using Afro Kinky Hair) and was pretty jazzed by the curling process which involved using curling rods and hot water.
It was my first time to actually braid myself these twists but I think I’m definitely going to be rocking these braids when in between hairstyles because they are so easy to do!

Best part: Fasted braiding ever!

Marley Braids - Three Strand Braids

Attempt numero #2 at braiding my hair.

This time I used enough packets of Marley hair in it's full length and I did a three strand braid pattern (as opposed to twists. I decided to install them first then do the end in my own time. So I wore this crazy look for a couple of days:

Then as time went by I realized this was getting too crazy tangled since I wasn't maintaining the hair with necessary products. (Yes, marley hair is almost like afro kinky hair perhaps looser curls- so you need to take care of it if you're going to wear it out.)

So I eventually finished the ends, then curled them. Forgot to take a photo soon after but this pic was about 3 weeks of them being in my hair:

Bantu Twist-Out Look

I decided to wear my hair for the real first time since the big chop.

I just did some bantu knots the night before and then undid them the following morning. I didn't comb my hair to achieve this look- just picked/ lifted it lightly. Just enough to blend the parts.

I loved it! Just need to trim my ends though :).

Short Braids

I braided myself once again three strand short style but forgot to take a pic when it was fresh 2 weeks ago LOL.
I used Afro-Kinky hair and had to burn my ends using a lighter - no fires were reported lol.
It took me half the time it normally takes me to braid myself (so about 5-8 hours).

This was my least fave style to date because I didn't use enough hair.

Blow Out- Twist Out

This is my first blow out since going natural.

  1. I just washed my hair.
  2. Blow dried it out. I used the hair dryer setting to the medium heat.
  3. Did my big chunks of twists the night before
  4. Morning after I separated the twists.
